Mutua School

One of our United 2 Help board members purchased land to build a church in Mutua Mozambique. The church has since been built and in the spring of 2022, she has committed the rest of the land to United 2 Help to build our first school. We built the first building with two classrooms in 2022 and are expecting to complete the latrines for the school campus by the end of 2023. We post regular updates on our school construction here.

A school building provides a place for teachers to hold classes giving children the opportunity to learn. We envision a school that also provides job force training to older students to teach them to become bakers, tailors, and tradespeople. Building a school in this area is essential to the long-term stability and prosperity of the community.

The plan is to build a main building with 2 tradition school classrooms and then later add a 3 room building for job force training for older students.

These buildings will be simple concrete brick structures with glass windows, wooden doors, and a metal roof.

Simple buildings like this are relatively inexpensive to build, are easy to maintain and will last for decades.

This is our school design – 2 rooms for regular classes, an office, Sewing room and kitchen.

This is the plan for the bathroom/latrine – one side for boys and the other side for girls with a room for staff and a water reservoir which will come later based on donations.
