The first project planned out is a maternity clinic site plan with multiple buildings for Buzi Mozambique.
The United 2 Help Clinic/Maternity Ward Project is envisioned as a site complex of 7 buildings – see Attachment 2 site plan (Building F not currently shown):
– Building A – General Outpatient Clinic (waiting area, offices, 6 clinic rooms and 2 restrooms)
– Building B – Maternity Ward (2 rooms, 1 restroom)
– Building C – Exterior Public Restrooms
– Building F – Mae Espera House (a waiting house for expectant mothers)
– Building D – Staff Housing – 2 bedrooms with privacy fencing
– Building E – Staff Housing – 2 bedrooms with privacy fencing
– Building G – Outdoor Kitchen
The land for the project will come from the Buzi district. The Mozambique Ministry of Health has identified three (3) potential locations for this site (see Attachment 3) Upon completion of construction, the new clinic will be integrated into the ministry health network, and they will assume operational responsibility.
United 2 Help will hire JD’Sousa Construction (“JDSC”) in Mozambique to construct the site. JDSC has extensive experience in this type of construction; Attachment 4 is their brochure of similar projects to what is proposed. JDSC has submitted a fixed price construction bid dated October 2020 of approximately MZM 11,311,198 from JDSC (excluding VAT) – see Attachment 5. Their time estimate for constructions is 150 days. However, for budgeting and fundraising purposes we have broken down this project into two phases.
Simple buildings like this are relatively inexpensive to build, are easy to maintain and will last for decades.
United 2 Help submitted two grant requests with detailed implementation plans during the Covid-19 pandemic. This project is ready to be funded but initial funds raised for the projects have been used to get the Mutuwa School building underway. Please help us by donating toward our building projects.
